About

Laurie Shertz has been practicing law since 1995, first in the Seattle area and in Oregon since 1996. During that time, I have dedicated my practice to providing high-quality, creative, professional, and ethical legal representation to people charged with crimes.

For the past two decades, I have operated my own law firm, concentrating primarily on major felonies and defense of cases in the Federal District Court of Oregon. Before entering private practice, I spent nearly five years at the public defender’s office, most of which was on the major felony team. I previously worked as an appellate attorney and honed my ability to protect your trial record. During law school, I gained invaluable insight into the prosecutor’s office by working both in the victim’s assistance unit and later as a trial prosecutor.

I am no stranger to hard work: I achieved my undergraduate degree in three years from the University of Washington, while working full-time. After college, I attended Seattle University School of Law and worked for two different prosecuting agencies during school; first in the victim assistance unit of the King County Prosecutor’s Office, and later as a prosecutor for the City of Bremerton. I filed nearly two dozen appeals on behalf of clients while working for Nielsen & Acosta before relocating to Oregon.

My practice is client-centric and focused. I get to know everything about your case and the facts that lead you to the place you are today. We focus holistically on the client and the case to obtain the best possible results.
