My Biography:

Laurie Shertz has been practicing law since 1995, first in the Seattle area, and in Portland, Oregon and the surrounding communities since 1996. During that time, I have dedicated my practice to providing high quality, creative, professional, and ethical legal representation to people charged with crimes.

For the past twelve years, I have operated my own law firm, concentrating primarily on major felonies and defense of cases in the Federal District Court of Oregon. Before entering private practice, I spent nearly five years at the public defender's office, most of which was on the major felony team. I previously worked as an appellate attorney and honed my ability to protect your trial record. During law school, I gained invaluable insight into prosecutor's office by working both in the victim's assistance unit and later as a trial prosecutor.

I am no stranger to hard work: I achieved my undergraduate degree in three years from the University of Washington, while working full-time. After college, I attended Seattle University School of Law and worked for two different prosecuting agencies during school; first in the victim assistance unit of the King County Prosecutor's Office, and later as a prosecutor for the City of Bremerton. I filed nearly two dozen appeals on behalf of clients while working for Nielsen & Acosta before relocating to Oregon.
